R.A. Hogan grew up in Oklahoma with a passion for animals, science, and stories. She enjoyed writing from a young age but later seemed destined for a career in the medical field. While waiting on an optometry appointment in 2015, she read a popular blog post that wrote negatively about female science fiction authors. The post prompted her to begin her writing career. She gladly left her future in medicine behind to pursue writing.

 

She currently lives with her husband and three dogs writing and fostering dogs for a local rescue. Some of her favorite authors are Philip K. Dick, Dan Simmons, Octavia E. Butler, Ursala K. LeGuin, and Author C. Clarke.
